This 5,500 square foot home in Rowayton, Connecticut was designed for a young family of five looking for a comfortable escape from city life.

The focus was on creating a home that felt relaxed and pulled together, but never too precious for everyday family life. We designed several of the architectural elements throughout the house, including the fireplace, the bunk room, and custom built ins for the den and mudroom. Lighting also played a big role throughout the home, along with wallpaper, which we used generously to give individual rooms their own personality.

Furnishings were chosen with both comfort and durability in mind, creating plenty of places for kids, family and friends to gather. The house needed to work just as well for a quiet weekend at home as it did for a full house of guests.

The result is a home that feels comfortable, welcoming and personal, which was exactly the goal.
